Council of General Practice
The AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice is the medico-political voice of GP members of the AMA in NSW.
The Council considers issues pertaining to general practice and then reports to whichever Standing Committee of AMA (NSW) is appropriate. The Council also assists in the formulation of the AMA (NSW) policy relating to general practice.
Two members of the AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice sit on the Federal AMA Council of General Practice which defends the interests of GPs nationally.
Dr Robyn Napier is Chairman of the AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice and the AMA (NSW) Medical Secretary and Medical Director. An election is held each year for the Council Executive.
