A message from the Chairwoman of the AMA (NSW) D.I.T. Committee

Doctors-in-training (DITs) represent an important part of the healthcare system and also a large proportion of the membership of the AMA. It is important that our views and concerns are not only heard, but also dealt with at the highest levels of governance, within our own AMA body, but also the community and government at large. This ensures that our working conditions and wellbeing are attended to, not only for our benefit, but more importantly for the benefit of the patients under our care in the public system. I am committed to representation of DIT views to uphold the quality of our training and working lives.

In addition, it is important for our DIT committee to remain successful and representative. It is my goal to increase the participation and membership of our committee to ensure that it is perceived as an effective forum to discuss DIT issues and actively work to resolve them. Not only will this help us to expand the membership of the committee, but the AMA as a whole, as the voice of the profession.
