Upcoming Themed Nights in 2011:
Thursday, 3 February 2011 – 'Readings Night' – Readings of stories, plays, biographies and poems
Thursday, 5 May 2011 – 'Film Night' – Screening short films, scenes from feature films, music videos, educational videos medical ads, mockumentaries and documentaries
Sunday, 3 July 2011 – 'DOC ART FESTIVAL' – showcases on individual work based on a theme
Thursday, 4 August 2011 *** CANCELLED *** – 'Performing Arts' – Showcasing monologues, songs, opera, theatre, magic and intrumental music
Thursday, 3 November 2011 *** CANCELLED *** – ‘Visual Arts’ – displaying different visual art forms.
Frequency: Quarterly, First Thursday every month, 6.30pm
Venue: AMA Conference Centre, AMA House, 69 Christie Street, St Leonards
Aim: Showcase various creative modalities with a specific theme for each night
Accompanied by finger food and beverages these popular social gatherings allow doctors to share stories about their craft. The highlight event for the year is the DOC ART Festival (July) which challenges doctors to submit entries to a set theme in five categories:
- photos
- stories
- films
- performances
- visual arts
