AMA (NSW) congratulates all doctors named on the Australia Day Honours List
AMA (NSW) congratulates all the doctors who have been named on the Australia Day Honours List and thanks them for their service to their communities.
“It’s always wonderful to see the number of doctors who appear on the Australia Day Honours List.
“I particularly want to congratulate A/Prof Peter Thursby OAM, who was president of AMA (NSW) from 1997 to 1999, on being named this year,” AMA (NSW) President, Dr Michael Steiner, said.
“It’s really pleasing to see how much the work of Australian doctors is appreciated, especially when individual doctors are nominated for such honours.
“Australian doctors provide invaluable services to their local communities as well as helping to advance medicine by undertaking and contributing to important research.
“It’s excellent that the important roles doctors play in Australian life is recognised on Australia Day,” Dr Steiner said.
